Dr. Janakan Somasundaram

Dr. Janakan Somasundaram is a family physician practicing in the Greater Toronto Area. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Toronto before heading out west to complete his residency training at the University of Calgary. In Calgary, he served as Chief Resident for the Family Medicine program and took on many leadership roles in advancing medical education, in addition to his clinical duties. Dr. Somasundaram is fluent in English and Tamil. He has a passion for medicine and enjoys the privilege to serve the community.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I had an excellent experience at Thompson Medical Clinic. Dr. Adewunmi Adebanjo is truly one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen—knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive to patient needs. The clinic is well-organized, with minimal wait times, which I really appreciate. The front desk staff is friendly, efficient, and committed to great customer service. Plus, having a pharmacy on-site adds to the convenience. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone seeking quality medical care!

Best clinic I found like a shinny Gem, wait was very little, receptionists were professional, the pharmacist was. Polite and informative and the Doc was very knowledgeable, making this my family Doctor place.

The bookings for the doctor are backed up, be prepared to wait even with an appointment for 30min or longer. I also prefer a different pharmacy as the male pharmacist did not know how to add my benefits card and telling me my card was no good when I've recently used it at other pharmacies. He was assuming I'm under my "wife's" plan when I'm a single with no wedding ring. One of the female pharmacists told him the card works, he just had to include all the numbers on the card as I was telling him but he refused to listen to me. It became awkward when he realized he was wrong.

Small clinic but the Doctor was excellent. Best doctor in a walk in that I can remember.Only downside is parking which is free but the strip mall is very busy.

It is a bit tricky to find as it is inside a pharmacy (the sign is on the window, not above the clinic) and crowded, but worth it! Dr. Adebanjo has such a lovely, kind disposition. I saw him in an after hours emergency (as I had just fallen down the stairs), and if I didn’t already have a family doctor, I wouldn’t hesitate to become a regular client. He is very genuine in his interactions and thorough. The staff are busy but take the time to listen and respond to questions. They also answer the phone - a live voice! Wonderful service by all. Thank you for your professionalism!
